Mr Black / Church Of Coffee
Born from a desire to take Australian coffee culture into the night, Mr Black is communion for discerning coffee drinkers the world over. Their cold brewed coffee liqueur is particularly good in an espresso martini - so much so that they decided to organise their own festival dedicated to that specific drink.
Mr Black approached Arnie to help them design and execute the event’s hub - a Church of Coffee on Dray Walk at the Old Truman Brewery. We’re big fans of anyone who attaches that level of devotion to their passion, so jumped at the chance to be involved.
The end result was a multifunctional space split into two distinct areas. An Antipodean coffee shop sat out front with milk crate seating, custom furniture and plants for day time visitors in seek of their coffee fix. Beyond the coffee shop, behind a thick curtain, we built a church frame structure, a confession booth, custom bench seating with dusty pink trim and hand cut iconography within the timber & a massive alter / DJ booth.
This one was a quick turnaround, a small crew and a lot of fun. If you spot Mr Black on shelves in the future - let him take you to church!
