Studio Project / Half Cut Market / Opening a Restaurant
Like most people, coming off the back of Covid, we were missing restaurants and socialising like crazy. We also really like getting our hands dirty & understanding how things work -- so we decided to open one ourselves.
Half Cut Market is a small restaurant, wine bar & bottle shop that's been voted #1 Wine Bar in London by Time Out, one of the Top Ten Wine Bars in the UK by The Times and one of the Top Five Places to Drink Wine in London by The Guardian. It's gone viral on Instagram for putting oysters and champagne in the basket of a Lime bike, hosted 30+ guest chef takeovers and sold *a lot* of booze.
This one is deeply personal and Arnie founder Danny's fingerprints are all over every aspect - from the name to the interior, the regularly changing window designs, social media and the bonkers merch programme.
All that said, there's a reason we've got it as a case study here. We also use Half Cut to host brand events, conduct market research, A/B test packaging designs and deepen our understanding of how hospitality brands and the businesses that supply them can thrive in an increasingly competitive market.
It's also a really fun place to have a meeting. Just make sure you're not doing anything too serious afterwards...
